VISIT THE UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA WITH DIGITAL MI'KMAQ
Are you interested in engineering?
Digital Mi'kmaq is looking for 20 keen and exceptional students from Grades 8 to 10 to participate in a month long hands-on creative engineering program offered by the University of Ottawa this summer.
Students and chaperones will fly to the Ottawa Airport on Sunday, June 30th and fly home at the end of July (Date TBD). All flights, accommodations, and meals will be covered.
What will this trip include?
Richard L’Abbé Makerspace: A brand new STEM complex that allows everyone to collaborate and build their dream projects. It is open to students and community members to invent, make, build and play. The space is led, organized and managed by students from different fields of studies.It's equipped with 3D printers, Arduinos, Handibots, laser cutters and much more
MakerLab: Contains the equipment to conduct sessions instructing students on digital technologies such as 3D printing, microcontrollers and app development.
Explore Ottawa: Students will have an opportunity to explore the capital of Canada, including the Rideau Canal, Parliament, and more!

Teachers/Chaperones will each be paid $4000 for the month and all expenses will be covered. Teachers/Chaperones will also participate in the Digital Mi'kmaq program to extend what they have learned to their own schools and communities.
